Finding Time to Paint Every Day.

Finding time to paint every day: How do you manage a busy schedule?

You’ve discovered your true passion in life: watercolor painting. However. With your busy schedule, finding time to pick up a brush is a challenge. What do you do when you can barely find the time to eat breakfast, let alone paint every day?

I often find myself in this situation: having a five-year-old and a husband can be challenging when trying to keep up with my teaching schedule. But I’m managing it.

What works for me and keeps me going is having a schedule. I have to set my mind to it and discipline myself to go to my studio at the same time each day, about two to three times per day. I take my teaching very seriously because. No matter how you call it—art creating, art making, or just living a good life—it’s still a job.

What works for me might not work for you. However, having that moment to yourself or just focusing on painting can have many health benefits. This is why I never gave up. Painting gives me peace of mind, where I can focus on doing what I love. It’s just me and my thoughts. You can do it, too.

If you dedicate an hour each day to focus on art (or even one day a week), it can completely change your life. It doesn’t have to be the whole day, either; I don’t even paint for the entire day anymore, as painting all day isn’t productive. And don’t forget: You need to take breaks, clear your mind, and gain a new perspective on your creation.

Once you allocate an hour every day for painting, you need to plan first so that you’re not left only sketching or preparing your materials on the day you plan to paint. Don’t have any specific expectations; follow your instincts.

Paint something simple, and if you’re not interested in adding details, embrace a looser, more abstract style.

Adding splatters to the paper can also be beneficial.

Enjoy the process, even if you’re not satisfied with your painting. When it’s time to paint again next week, look at it then.
